The Rank Reset

It's been almost 4 months since our last entry! Ered and I got back into League of Legends pretty hard, resulting in less time to practice our ol' friend Halo. As it happens, 343i was kind enough to reset all of the rankings for our most-played playlist - the below embed is our very first game after months of taking a break, matching us against the lowest of the low on xbox live. It's filled with amazing fails and genius moments; enjoy! (We love the new BR)

Overview:
Date: 06/08/2013
Playlist: Infinity Team Slayer
Map: Opus
Party:  Tol Eressea, Ered Wethrin
Length: 9min

Highlights:
- Everyone = Competitive Skill Rank 1 (CSR)
- Split-screen action!

- Needles everywhere
- Lucky snipe noscopes
- New SAW is OP as all getout
- Neither one of us remembers we have Thruster Pack, not even once

The Gang's All Here

We're trying out a new format for the video: 4-way splitscreen for the entire team. With this map and gametype it's a bit chaotic, but still an enjoyable game (Who do I watch?!?!). I believe this is our first upload from the new playlist Team Throwdown, which is an incredibly balanced and competitive offering from 343i. Kudos to Ghostayame, Bravo, and Walshy for doing the research and legwork necessary to make it happen.

Overview:
Date: 02/24/2013

Instant Respawn is Overrated

I've been far too lazy when it comes to rendering and uploading, but this one is definitely deserving. There's a first time for everything, and I believe this was Ered's first for this.

Map: Adrift
Party:  Ered Wethrin
Length: 8min

Highlights:
- Needler
- SpamSaw
- Don't forget to check that score screen at the end...

Burial Nostalgia

We haven't spent much time with the DLC maps. This is probably because for some unknown reason we avoid Big Team like the plague. The following game is perhaps my 2nd time ever on Wreckage, and all I can think is: "This feels so much like Burial Mounds!" It's got ranged, close quarters, and vehicles (and it isn't complex) - what more could you ask for!

Overview:
Playlist: Big Team Infinity Slayer
Map: Wreckage
Party:  Ered Wethrin, Tol Eressea, Murphy R T
Length: 7min

Highlights:
- Vehicles go boom
- Active Camo + Plasma Pistol = Awesome
- So close to perfection, and yet so far...

note: Ered and Murphy both saved their perspectives on this game, yet I'm waiting on the fileshare uploading... Regardless, I need to get this one out of the queue to prep for Ered's first perfection to date in Halo 4!

Carry 101

It happens to everyone; to some it happens more than others. You're playing really well, and you just can't figure out why you're not winning by a greater margin. The game finally ends and the score screen rolls; you chuckle to yourself, noting that one or two players on your team clearly weren't able to "get into the groove". This was one of those times.

Overview:
Playlist: Infinity Team Slayer
Map: Haven
Party:  Ered Wethrin, Tol Eressea
Length: 7min

Highlights:
- Solid teamshot (two players on the same team putting shots on target together)
- Great mix of patience and aggression
- Beam Rifle snapshots (does anyone else feel this weapon is out of control?)

Really Matchmaking? Really?

By and large, the Halo 4 matchmaking system seems to work pretty well. When I play with people who are really good, I feel that on average games are harder; the same thing goes the other way when people on my team aren't as good.

Sometimes... sometimes it doesn't make much sense at all - I guess no algorithm is perfect, right?

Oddball Perfection

This one is short and sweet. I'll let it speak for itself.

Ring Around The Complex

Some people really hate Complex, and even more for objective gametypes. It's certainly a trick to catch that ball-runner once he's off and around the bend... For objective slayers like us, it's very amusing.

I'm still working on refining the recording/rendering quality. This one was recorded at 720p, 5000kpbs, and rendered in AVCHD 720p. Somehow the Youtube version lacks a 720p selection, so I'll have to keep tinkering. Regardless, here it is!

Back In The Saddle Once More

We're back.

Halo 4 hit the shelves and we've hit the trenches with a vengeance, finding the gameplay the most rewarding since the title-which-will-be-forever-missed Halo 2. Given it's quality, I have acquired a capture card, which shall allow me to record and serve up gameplay to you in HD quality.

Today I bring to you an initial offering - it is certainly not my best, but has some fun moments. I hope you'll enjoy :)

Playlist/Gametype: Infinity Team Slayer
HTR Level : 37
Map: Haven
Our Team: Tol Eressea, 3 SRGs (seriously random guys)
Their Team: Who knows?
Mood: <3 Railgun
Game Length: 7min

It feels good to be back. I expect that Ered will either buy a capture card or deliver games via fileshare for me to record and upload. We'll see how it goes!
